About Yin Yoga
This deep, meditative practice focuses on connective tissues – ligaments, joints, bones, the deep fascia networks of the body and the meridians. It is gentle and slower, as you stay in the same posture for a long time so it is giving you space to turn inward and observe what is happening with both your mind and the physical sensations in your body.
The benefits of practicing Yin Yoga is to improve the flow of chi (life force) in the organs. Other benefits are: make the connective tissue recover; become elastic and stronger, increase flexibility, help to keep the joints flexible, and reduce stress levels.
Yin yoga sequences consist of a series of passive poses. The poses are held for up to five minutes, sometimes longer. In these lessons we can use as many props as needed; blocks, straps and bolsters are always available to support your body in all the poses.
