About Beginner Yoga

Beginner yoga is designed to be followed by anyone who are new to physical yoga (asana) practice. The practice introduce slow-deep-connected breathing combines with gentle movements of postures. 

Beginner yoga class starts with simple meditation and breathing practice (pranayama), followed by slow stretching of warming up position on seated and standing pose. Continue with simple flow of Surya Namaskar series, standing position, balancing postures, seated position and cooling down postures. Throughout the practice, students must be able to observe the connection of the movements and the breath dynamically and continuously. The teacher will give sample of movements and also give adjustments and assistance when it is needed.

During practice, the breath must be performed through the nostril while inhalation and exhalation. Sometimes beginner practitioners breathe with the mouth, especially when they assume that the movements are challenging. This might be caused by the habit of other physical exercise, such as body building or aerobic. In most asana practice, breaths are being performed by using the nose to help maintaining the circulation of prana in the body.

Our beginner class is an introduction to yoga especially for first time practitioners. This practice helps to give an overview about the correlation between the mind, the breath and the movements. Also allow the experience for practitioners to make observation about how they feel of their first practice. 

Most people come to a yoga class with expectations. They expect that by attending one yoga class, it will change their life. Well, that could be true! When a person perform yoga practice mindfully and attentively, he or she will feel different sensation after the class. One of the biggest challenge for most people to practice yoga is the quality of their busy mind. Most people cannot help not to think of something else outside the yoga mat, even when in the yoga class. And this is a distracting habit that may create restriction for progress.

The different of yoga practice and other physical practice is that the main key in practicing yoga by using regulated breathing to guide the physical movements. Supposed the movements are following the breath.
